2021 Mt. Vernon

Thanks to all for making our 2021

artisan shows a great success! 2022 shows TBD.

Please join us for a taste of 18th-century tavern life!

I’ll be giving a presentation on early American taverns and their signs

at the 1784 Pub, at Michie Tavern in Charlottesville, Virginia, from 12:30 pm–7:00 pm, Saturday, December 18 (also nearby is Monticello, the historic home of Thomas Jefferson). Michie restaurant serves an awesome buffet lunch–daily from 11:30 –3:00 pm– featuring their

award-winning Southern fried chicken, hickory-smoked pork barbecue, and other excellent home-style foods and desserts which alone are well worth the trip!

Michie's 1784 Pub (where we’ll be, starting at 12:30) is open from 3:30–7:00 pm, serves light-fare tavern-style food and a variety of beverages. I’ll have some signs, our new tote bags for sale, and will be conversing with tavern patrons on historic stories about tavern life in early Colonial America. Looking forward to seeing you there on the 18th!
